BUYDEEM Slow Cooker with Nonstick Stockpot - Bundle Review
Source: @Stevescooking
If there's one American comfort food that hits the spot every time, it's the Sloppy Joe. I still remember the first time I tried it—over 20 years ago when I first arrived in the U.S.—and I was hooked. While the canned versions are convenient, nothing beats the flavor of a homemade Sloppy Joe. It’s rich, saucy, and deeply satisfying.
This time, I made it using the BUYDEEM Multi-Functional Slow Cooker, which I recently unboxed and tested. It has five programmable cooking modes and makes the whole process seamless—from sautéing to slow cooking—all in one pot. No stove transfers. No fuss.
Let’s dive into this easy and flavorful Sloppy Joe recipe!
🛒 Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 small onion, diced
- 8 ounce can tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/8 cup brown sugar
- 1/8 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 Tablespoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon yellow mustard
- A few dashes Worcestershire sauce
🍳 Instructions
Step 1: Sauté the beef
Select the Sauté-High mode setting on the slow cooker. Add olive oil to the pot, then add the ground beef. Break it up with a spatula and cook for a few minutes.
Step 2: Add the onions
Once the beef starts browning, toss in the diced onions. Continue cooking until the beef is golden brown and the onions are soft.
Step 3: Drain excess fat
Carefully drain the excess fat. (Note: the handles get hot—use oven mitts to avoid burns.
Step 4: Add the sauce and seasonings
Add tomato sauce, ketchup, water, brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, red wine vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and flour. Stir everything together until well combined.
Step 5: Slow cook to perfection
Switch to the Slow Cook – Low setting and cook for 4 hours with the lid on. Let the flavors develop slowly while you sit back and relax.
